San Diego Update

So, some of you know that I've been in San Diego for the past month. My mom was recently diagnosed with cancer in her colon and is undergoing chemo and radiation, so I've been down here to help drive her to appoinments and clean the house and distract her with my two very busy children. She just finished her first round of chemo, and man that stuff is nasty! She felt pretty good the first couple of days, and then hit rock bottom pretty quickly. Throwing up, extremely tired, the skin on her tongue is practically peeling off...okay, maybe that was too much info, but I am just really feeling for her. She's not feeling the effects of the radiation yet, but it will start to hit her in the next week or so. Anyway, she's done with chemo now for three weeks, and then does another round of it. Those of you that know her, keep her in your thoughts and prayers...the worst is yet to come for her. Anyway, I'm not sure how long I'll be down here helping. Having 2 babies to take care of sort of limits my helpfulness, anyway, and once we become more of a pain than a help, we'll be heading back to Sacramento. So, there ya go. Sorry if I haven't been returning phone calls or emails...this whole experience has sort of made me antisocial. Anyway, that's the update for those of you who were wondering...

Annoying

So, I've got a bunch of cute pictures and a couple cute videos that I've been trying to post for a few days, but my USB ports on my laptop are not working. So frustrating! That means I can't charge or update my ipod, either! Grrr...I've reinstalled them a few times and rebooted my computer, and I've run out of things to do to fix it. If any of you have any suggestions, let me know...

New Look

I decided I was sick of my blog, so I switched things up! I'm loving the black and white... And I played around in photoshop and made my own header! Yay. I know it's not the best quality, I'm still trying to figure out how to make the pictures more clear. At least this kept me busy for a while.

Pink Princess

Taylen's favorite thing to do at Grandma's is to get
in all of my sister's clothes. Every time I turn around she's
wearing something else. This was my personal favorite, though.
It's a pink petticoat thing, and we tied it on her like a dress. Then Tay decided to get out her makeup kit (courtesy of Grandma), and these pictures were just too cute with the dress all fanned out around her...

Beach Fun

Here we are at Oceanside Pier. This beach is awesome because there is a playground right there on the sand. Taylen went from the waves to the sand to the swings. We could have been there all day! It's too bad they don't have beaches in Sacramento :)

Congrats, Heather and Chris!

Brad's sister Heather got married over the weekend!! She looked beautiful, and it was a fun day. Weddings aren't as much fun though when you've got 2 kids to deal with all day!! But Taylen had a blast with her cousins and aunt Emmy.

Congratulations Heather and Chris! The day was a beautiful start to your life together!

Here is the link to a slideshow I put together of the day...it was too big to fit here and I couldn't figure out how to make it smaller, sorry :) I wanted to do a slideshow instead of a video because you can stop it if you want to look at a picture longer or go back to one or something. Anyway, click the link if you are interested...

California State Fair

Monday afternoon we went to the state fair with Brad's parents and sisters. Besides it being about nine thousand degrees, we had a good time! Taylen had fun riding all the little kid rides with Emmalee, Sarah and Nana. I feel a Rogers and Hammerstein quote coming on... ''Our state fair is a great state fair. Don't miss it, don't even be late. It's dollars for donuts at our state fair, it's the best state fair in our state!''

I love this picture :) Two little friends

The sun was blazing down on us, so Brad
had to improvise to find some shade to feed Ryah :)

Labor Day Weekend

My cousin Amy and her hubby Drew and their kids came to visit us this weekend. The boys went golfing a couple times, and then they watched the kids for us while we went shopping and made hair bows :). Taylen and Amy's daughter Mia had fun together. We all had a fun weekend!
